President Donald Trump announced plans on Tuesday for a new website that will allow consumers to buy drugs directly from manufacturers.

The website will be government-run and known as TrumpRx, according to The Wall Street Journal .

In a deal with the White House, drug maker Pfizer has agreed to sell some of its medications on the site at a reduced rate, according to the Journal.

Trump said deals with other drug companies are in the works, according to NPR .

“The American consumers have been subsidizing research and development for the entire planet,” Trump said in a press conference, joined by his health team and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, according to NPR. “They put all of that on us, and yet they were the beneficiaries too. So it’s been changed.”
