America's Forever stamp has another new face.

On Wednesday, Oct. 1, on what would have been the late president's 101st birthday, the United States Postal Service released a new stamp to honor former President Jimmy Carter . Carter died last December in his hometown of Plains, Georgia.

The dedication ceremony took place at The Carter Center in Atlanta, the USPS said in a statement .

Stamp celebrates 'life and legacy'

“Our family is excited to attend the first-day-of-issue ceremony to celebrate the life and legacy of my grandfather," Jason Carter, chair of The Carter Center, said in the statement. "My grandparents would be touched by this incredible honor."
