BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - A prolonged government shutdown could impact the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds air show in Biloxi.
Thunder Over the Sound is set to take place on November 1 and 2.
Keesler Air Force Base officials confirm that during a shutdown, the Thunderbirds and other military demonstration teams do not perform.
For now, Keesler and local leaders are moving ahead with plans for Thunder Over the Sound.
On Thursday morning, Keesler and Biloxi first responders will hold a disaster drill to prepare for any possible emergencies during the air show. If you’re out in the area of White Avenue and Highway 90 in Biloxi, expect to see military and civilian vehicles, props, and people practicing responses for a crash or another emergency.
