A group of Palm Springs residents has launched an effort to block the development of a hotel and condominium complex that would become two of the city's tallest buildings if constructed.

The residents are concerned the towers will increase noise and traffic, block mountain views and cast shadows on nearby properties, lower home values and harm vacation rental income.
