LEWISTON, Maine (WABI) - A man accused of strangling a five-year-old child in Massachusetts has been arrested in Maine.
The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Dominque Bailey in Lewiston Tuesday.
Bailey was wanted on multiple warrants one being out of Massachusetts, for three counts of assault and battery on a family or household member and strangulation or suffocation.
Bailey is accused of strangling the girl in Peabody, Massachusetts, before leaving the scene in the victim’s mothers car.
The stolen vehicle was later found by the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.
At the time of the alleged offense, Bailey was on state probation in Maine for robbery and was additionally charged with a probation violation.
Bailey was charged as a fugitive from justice and is pending his extradition ba
