HAMMOND, La. — An 18-year-old is dead after a shooting in Hammond on Monday, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.

Now deputies are asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle and the driver.

On Monday, Sept. 29, deputies received reports of shots being fired between two cars in the 13000 block of Miley Niquiporo Road. A short time later, another call came in about gunfire near the intersection of Louisiana Highway 1064 and Rufus Bankston Road.

Authorities said initially, no injuries were reported, but around 4 p.m., an 18-year-old man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
