Being down 1-0 in a best-of-three National League Wild Card series is a situation the Padres did not want to be in. In the history of three-game Wild Card series, only two of 20 teams that lost game one came back to win the series.

Of course, one of those teams to do it was the 2020 San Diego Padres, so who seem to thrive under extreme pressure.

"I think that's what makes these games great sometimes is, everybody's pulling for each other," says 2nd baseman Jake Cronenworth. "The group gets super, super close in situations like this. And I'm sure you'll see it throughout the game from the first pitch to the last pitch, everybody is ready to go."
