A major Bolton road was closed in both directions after a building suddenly collapsed this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to St Helens Road following reports of the incident at around 12:30pm on Wednesday (October 1).
The Manchester Evening News understands that the incident was to do with demolition works taking place at a property on the busy road.
Pictures from the scene show police, ambulance and fire and rescue services in attendance. No injuries have been reported.
