Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had a fascinating response to internet speculation that he was playing “NBA 2K” until 4 am on Sunday.

Under most circumstances, an NFL head coach would be furious to learn that one of his players (let alone a superstar like Amon-Ra St. Brown) broke curfew to play video games on gameday.

But whatever St. Brown did before Sunday’s Week 4 clash with the Cleveland Browns, it worked. He caught seven passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Lions to a 34-10 win.

So, where did this “NBA 2K” rumor come from? It started when a video surfaced of somebody using Amon-Ra St. Brown’s name in “NBA 2K” that went viral:

After helping Detroit to its third straight win, St. Brown posted an Instagram story reading, “Can finally get back on 2K now.”
