A woman was injured after a piece of metal fell off a truck and crashed through her windshield on the Florida's Turnpike in Miami-Dade on Wednesday, authorities said.
The incident happened shortly after 11 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike near Northwest 199th Street in Miami Gardens.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a piece of metal fell off a tow truck and into the roadway, and an oncoming SUV hit the debris.
The metal went through the SUV's windshield and struck the woman, who was the front passenger, in the arm.
Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed the SUV on the side of the roadway with a hole in its windshield. NBC6
The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries.
