EUGENE, Ore. - Construction is in full swing to renovate a key part of the University neighborhood.

The University Park renovation project is set to bring big changes for families who frequent the area, according to the City of Eugene Parks Planning Department.

City leaders are committed to addressing University Park's quirks, aiming to make it safer and more inviting. This renovation project has been shaped by community feedback, with many neighbors contributing their ideas.

"We did a public outreach process with the neighborhood we basically invited everybody that has interest with University Park," said Mark Cosmos, a landscape architect with the Eugene Parks Planning Department. "And started asking 'hey what is it you as a park user feel needs to happen?'"
