RALEIGH, N.C. — It's October -- that means multiple new laws are going into effect in North Carolina starting today. Here's what you should know about each of them.

Driver's License Grace Period (HB 421)

If you submit a renewal application before your license expires, the license will stay valid for up to 60 days past its expiration date, or until the Division approves or denies your application—whichever comes first.

More Access to Affordable Medications ( SB 470)

The Script Act - increases access to affordable medications and supports community retail pharmacies. Under Part VII of the law, drug manufacturers must inform relevant stakeholders about specific price hikes as well as the costs of newly launched prescription medications.
