GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. —

Carolina High School was briefly placed on hold Wednesday afternoon after a 911 call was made.

According to Carolina High School's principal Jeremy Carrick, school officials received a report that a student called 9-1-1 and another student in the background of the call referenced a weapon.

Law enforcement and the school administration immediately responded and put the school on hold, meaning no one could enter or exit the building while a search occurred.

Carrick said the students involved with the call were identified and searched, and nothing was found.

Out of an abundance of caution, all students in the classroom where the call originated were also searched, and nothing unusual was found.

Law enforcement later released the hold and the school has resumed
