COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M nickelback Tyreek Chappell had a devastating end to the 2024 season after suffering a torn ACL and a slight tear in his MCL during a non-contact incident during practice.
Chappell claims he’s finally felt back to 100%. After four games in the 2025 season, the nickelback had 10 solo tackles, which is the fourth most on the team.
Chappell credits his teammates for helping him through the recovery process.
“I mean, it was hard, a lot of people don’t talk about coming back from a knee injury, but I had the guys around me,” said Chappell. I had made sure I stayed here, so I keep my mind right. The guys helped me a lot. Coaches did too. But yeah, like the process was kind of long. Like shout out to Joe, he’s a great trainer, he got me right.
