COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - A&M Middle Blocker Ifenna Cos-Okpalla won SEC player of the week and defensive player of the week after leading the Aggies to their first two conference wins.

In the two wins, Cos-Okpalla totaled 15 kills, 15 blocks, and five aces.

“We played around some different stuff during the spring and that she latched onto that, and I think it’s just the ability to develop that serve and play some defense,“ said head coach Jamie Morrison. ”She’s hitting and attacking in some different places on the court now that she never had. She’s hitting a gap over and over again. She loves seeing a slide now. So I think she’s growing into her athleticism and able to put a game around it.

A&M will face South Carolina Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
