Arthur T. Demoulas, the longtime CEO of Market Basket who was fired last month after a failed mediation session with the company's board of directors , has formally demanded he be reinstated to his former post by appealing to a Delaware court.

Demoulas has filed a counterclaim in the Delaware Court of Chancery, in response to the complaint filed by the board after they fired him in September. The board's complaint, which Demoulas' team calls a lawsuit, outlined their allegations against Demoulas that led to their decision to fire him.
