University of Mary hits record with over 3,900 students enrolled

BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) -University of Mary has reported a total enrollment of 3,973 students for the 2025–26 academic year, the highest in its 66-year history. The figure includes 1,296 new students, consisting of freshmen, transfer, and graduate students.

Enrollment increased across undergraduate, graduate, and online programs. Students now represent all 50 U.S. states and 20 countries. The largest share of students comes from North Dakota, followed by Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Colorado, Washington, and California.

The university’s freshman retention rate is 83 percent, which exceeds national averages. Retention is considered a key indicator of student satisfaction and institutional performance.
