MOTT HAVEN, The Bronx (PIX11) -- A new Department of Motor Vehicles location is coming to New York City October.

The DMV announced the opening of its newest location in the Bronx Terminal Market at 610 Exterior St. on Wednesday.

It marks the relocation of the previous Bronx District DMV Office at 696 East Fordham Road, which closed last Friday.

According to the department, the new location was strategically positioned closer to public transit and parking to make it easier to access.

DMV officials say the new location is expected to better accommodate crowds and increased demand for REAL IDs.

“The new Bronx Terminal Market location will feature an improved layout that will allow our staff to handle transactions more efficiently,” said DMV Commissioner Mark J.F. Schroeder.
