Chatham Maroons forward Trevor Zanutto is the Greater Ontario Hockey League’s player of the month for September.

He received the award Wednesday after starting the season with a six-game scoring streak that included five straight multi-point games.

Zanutto leads the GOHL with eight goals, two more than he scored as a rookie last season in 39 games. He’s also collected his first hat trick.

He is tied for the GOHL scoring lead with 13 points in six games.

The Tecumseh native, who turns 18 in December, has helped the defending Sutherland Cup champions to a 5-1-0-0 record.

The Maroons visit the Brantford Titans Saturday and host the Komoka Kings Sunday at 7 p.m. at Chatham Memorial Arena.
