LIST: Top 50 Georgia schools by Georgia Promise funding, nearly 1/3 located in Central Georgia

MACON, Ga. — Out of the top 50 schools receiving the most money from the Georgia Promise scholarship, nearly 1/3 of them are located in Central Georgia , according to state data provided to 13WMAZ after an open records request.

One Central Georgia School, Windsor Academy, received the second most funding from the Georgia Promise Scholarship: $106,776.

Washington County's Brentwood School was not far behind, placing fourth on the list and receiving $102,000 in state money.

Whether a student is eligible depends on the performance of the school they're zoned for. Students zoned for schools in the bottom 25% in the state are eligible. If approved, a student can also receive $6,500 in tuition assistance.
