SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A Savannah woman is trying to figure out why her mother’s headstone has been damaged several times at one of the city’s historic cemeteries.

WTOC visited the gravesite at Greenwich Cemetery, located inside Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah to get answers for the woman’s heartbroken daughter.

“I want somebody to do something about it. I want Bonaventure to be responsible for it. She is here. This is her resting place,” said Felisha Shellman .

Before Felisha Shellman’s mother, Annell passed away in 2019, her dying wish was to be buried at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, which is maintained by the city.

Since then, Shellman and her family have visited the cemetery regularly.

But over time, they’ve noticed something troubling- the condition of Annell’s headstone.
