Pitt men’s basketball will be without center Dishon Jackson indefinitely as he addresses a medical situation, a setback for the Panthers as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Jackson, a transfer from Iowa State, released a statement on Wednesday acknowledging the support he’s received while emphasizing his focus on returning to full health.

“I’ve been managing a medical issue for years, and thanks to my family and support system, I’ve always been able to work through it and come out stronger,” Jackson said. “While I’m away from the team right now, my goal is to return at full strength. I appreciate everyone who has reached out and supported me during this time.”

Jackson was a key contributor for Iowa State last season, starting in 33 of the team’s 35 games. He averaged 8.5 points, 5.
