(WHTM) - One of the first polls of Pennsylvania's 2026 race for governor shows incumbent Josh Shapiro (D) with a wide lead over two of his potential Republican challengers, Stacy Garrity and Doug Mastriano.
The poll released Wednesday by Quinnipiac University shows Shapiro leading Garrity, the state's treasurer, 55% to 39%.
Seventy-three percent of voters surveyed said they haven't heard enough about Garrity, the Republican Party's endorsed candidate for Governor in 2026.
State Senator Doug Mastriano, who lost the 2022 governor's race to Shapiro, has floated the idea of a second run. The poll showed Shapiro with a similar lead, 56% to 39% in a potential rematch.
