(WETM) — October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and with that being said there are things people can do to detect it early, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
Women are primarily the ones who are diagnosed with breast cancer but it can affect men too. One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, the foundation emphasized.
Additionally, around 316,950 women and 2,800 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2025 and 59,080 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed, the foundation stated.
