COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther earned national recognition among other state and local officials who helped bring forth change in their communities.
Ginther was named a Public Official of the Year in Governing Magazine. He was one of seven officials recognized for the honor, including Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and late Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman.
According to the publication, the designation recognizes “state and local officials who have brought about significant changes to their communities. Whether Democrat or Republican, these leaders have proven themselves effective at carrying out programs and policies that not only make a difference at home but provide lessons to leaders elsewhere.”
