A former Armidale police officer will be sentenced on domestic violence charges after pleading guilty on the first day of his hearing.
Jonathan Martin appeared in Armidale Local Court on Tuesday, September 30, for the start of his three-day hearing, before he backflipped on some of his pleas.
Magistrate Mark Richardson agreed to stand the case down to allow negotiations between the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the defence team for Martin.
Following talks, Martin's barrister Steven Doupe told the court an agreement had been reached with the prosecution.
He said Martin would enter pleas of guilty to two charges of stalking or intimidation, and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm - all domestic violence-related.
