WASHINGTON, D.C. (WITN) - Congressman Greg Murphy says he doesn’t want to get paid during the government shutdown.

The 3rd District Republican congressman asked today that his pay be withheld during the current shutdown.

“No member of Congress should be paid while the American people are forced to endure the serious consequences of the Democrats’ willful negligence and political games,” said Murphy. “We are elected to represent our constituents and put our country before party.”
