A new vision has emerged for a 65-acre site at Poplar Road and the Newnan Crossing Bypass.
Developer Pope & Land Enterprises has filed plans for a $219 million mixed-use project that could bring retail, hotels and outdoor amusement space to East Newnan, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle .
According to a Development of Regional Impact (DRI) application filed this week, the project, dubbed Big Poplar II, is set to include 340,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, two 175-room hotels and 13 acres of outdoor amusement space. Completion is projected for 2036.
It remains unclear what the outdoor amusement component will entail, but site plans submitted to Coweta County show three separate amusement areas totaling 77,000 square feet.
