A Norfolk County woman is going the distance for Community Living Access.

Brooke Booker to training to compete in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon this month. While taking on her first full marathon, Booker is doing so with the goal of raising $1,000 for the organization, which provides support and services to adults with developmental disabilities.

“You’re only up against yourself,” Booker said. “It’s not a team sport. It’s your own battle.”

Although she’s never attempted the 42.2-kilometre distance, Booker is spending the weeks leading up to the Oct. 19-20 event preparing both mentally and physically.
