The heavy downpour on Thursday, Sept. 18, caused several devastating mudslides in Oak Glen and nearby mountain communities. The rain began about 1:45 p.m. and for nearly an hour, a couple of inches of rain came down hard in Oak Glen and the mountain communities, unleashing mudslides that were reminiscent of the 2022 Flash Flood incident that claimed the life of an elderly woman in Forest Falls.

Soon after the downpour last Thursday, evacuation warnings were in place for the communities of Forest Falls, Angelus Oaks, Seven Oaks and the Oak Glen area from Pendleton Road east to Oak Glen Road (north and south). The debris and mud from three separate creeks in Forest Falls wreaked havoc on the mountain community. It was report- ed that at least three homes were destroyed in Forest Falls.
