The 11th Annual Tickled Pink Out Party is Saturday in Montgomery, and once again, it will benefit the Cancer Wellness Foundation, with an emphasis on breast cancer.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is why Action 8 puts on this huge event each year. All proceeds from ticket and T-shirt sales benefit the Cancer Wellness Foundation, which serves people in 32 counties in our area.

Executive Director Carol Gunter told Action 8’s Ellis Eskew that it provides services ranging from assisting with medication to transportation to nutrition — filling the gap for cancer patients who need help. Gunter says that some patients in rural areas live 2 1/2 hours away from the places they need to go for treatment.
