8 ON YOUR SIDE CONSUMER ALERT: The Alabama Department of Revenue is warning of a texting scam involving tax refunds.
The department says the texts look like they’re coming from ALDOR. It says other states are reporting the same type of scams.

The text claims that your tax refund request has been approved, then asks for personal and financial information.
ALDOR says not to click any links in the texts and not to reply. It says you should delete the texts immediately.
The department says it never sends out texts asking for personal information.
