Several dog owners say they have abandoned North Bay’s dog park because of the unkept and dangerous conditions.
Mark Sandford said dog owners don’t ask for much from the City of North Bay, just a safe place where they can bring their beloved pets to run and socialize with other dogs.

But over the last four years, the Bruman Dog Park off Premier Road has deteriorated to the point where volunteers are having to care for the area.
Sandford said the conditions are so bad that dogs were reportedly getting sick.
“The park is located in a low-lying and swampy area. The wood chips were an idea to absorb the water and to keep dogs from running through swamps and puddles, but that has created more problems,” he told The Nugget on Wednesday.
