Video game developer and publisher, Electronic Arts, also known as EA, announced on Sept. 29 that a deal is in the works to be sold to a private investor consortium for $55 billion.
The video game giant behind popular sports titles such as Madden and FIFA, as well as actual video games like Mass Effect, Battlefield, and The Sims, announced in a news release that Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners would acquire the company during the 2027 fiscal year.
Affinity Partners was founded by Jared Kushner, son-in-law of Donald Trump, USA Today reported .
Shareholders of the publicly traded company would receive a $210 cash share if the deal ultimately goes through, the release said.
