The Clark County and Vancouver fire marshal offices announced Wednesday they have lifted a ban on recreational fires in the unincorporated county and Vancouver city limits effective immediately.
“Due to recent rains and cooler weather, we anticipate a reduced risk of wildfires in Clark County,” county Fire Marshal Donna Goddard said in a news release.
The county also lifted its ban on outdoor debris burning. However, the city of Vancouver is still prohibiting outdoor burning of things like vegetation and garbage, and violators may be cited or fined.
The county fire marshal urged residents to remain cautious and responsible when burning outdoors.
