The Global Sumud Flotilla has been intercepted by the Israeli navy as the convoy of vessels attempted to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The activists on board the flotilla claim they saw Israeli naval vessels about 8pm local time, as Israeli troops circled the 49 vessels before they could reach the shores of Gaza.

The IDF warned the flotilla to turn around after vessels were 70 to 80 nautical miles west of the war-ravaged strip.

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg’s vessel was the first boat to be intercepted and boarded by Israeli officials.
