MUSKEGON, Mich. — Zoey Tice, an 11-year-old from Muskegon, is proving you’re never too young to make a difference. Her mom, Ashley Zielinski, says that passion started when Zoey was little, after learning how harmful litter could be to the community and even to the deer and other animals who live there. What began as a personal mission has quickly grown into a community-wide effort, inspiring neighbors and organizations across Michigan.
“We’re picking up trash to try to clean up Muskegon,” Zoey said during a recent cleanup event. Her focus goes beyond just tidying the streets it’s about protecting the animals who share the environment. “A bunch of people like to dump their broken glass over there. That really hurts us and the animals too,” she explained.
