The daughter of one of the victims in Sunday's mass shooting at a Mormon chapel in Grand Blanc Township said she looked into the eyes of his killer, and "he let me live."

In a handwritten note posted to Facebook by her sister, one of the daughters of Craig Hayden described kneeling down next to her slain father with her hands on his body when the shooter approached.

"It felt like a long time I stared into his eyes while answering his question. The only way I can describe it is I saw into his soul," Carol Hayden wrote .

"I never took my eyes off his eyes, something happened, I saw pain, he felt lost. I deeply felt it with every fiber of my being. I forgave him, I forgave him right there, not in words but in my heart."
