BARRINGTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The Barrington School Committee announced it has selected Robert Mitchell to serve as the district's interim superintendent.
Mitchell is a former superintendent for Cumberland, serving from 2015 until his retirement in 2021. He previously served as the town's assistant superintendent and as the principal of Chariho High School.
Mitchell's contract was approved by the Barrington School Committee on Sept. 25.
The selection comes after the resignation of Superintendent Robert Wargo in July.
