A Priceville Police officer involved in a police chase that turned deadly in early September is no longer employed by the Priceville Police Department, according to Priceville Police Chief Jerry Holmes.
Although Holmes confirmed Garry Chapman is no longer an employee of the department, he would not provide any further details at this time.
WAAY 31 spoke with Chapman’s attorney, Scott Morro, who says the police chief recommended Chapman's termination to the mayor of Priceville, who then affirmed that recommendation.
WAAY 31 reached out to the mayor, Sam Heflin, but he said he could not give details about the case at this time. Here is the mayor's full statement:
"For reasons important to the protection of employee due process and fairness, it is the policy of the City of Priceville not
