A vote to end the government shutdown Wednesday morning failed as Senate Democrats held firm to the party’s demands to fund health care subsidies.

President Donald Trump and Republicans are refusing to provide those funds.

Now, blame is being cast on all sides as the government enters a new period of uncertainty.
