GRANVILLE, N.D. (KMOT) - A church in Granville is bringing its community together for a greater purpose.
For nearly a century, First Lutheran Church has hosted a free will supper.
Council member Liz Johnson said it’s a way to fund the church and catch up after a busy summer.
She shared that it’s becoming more and more difficult to keep rural churches going, and this is one way to help.
Johnson added that the event involves the help of everyone.
“It is really the whole community pitching in. We have a dessert committee, we have a serving committee, the clean up, the bussing,” said Johnson.
She said members make raffle items, farmers donate potatoes and ranchers even supply beef for the meatballs.
