SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WNCN) — The names of the three people killed in the mass shooting Saturday night in Southport were released by the city Wednesday afternoon.
According to the City of Southport, 64-year-old Joy Rogers of Southport; 56-year-old Michael Durbin of Galena, OH; and 36-year-old Solomon Banjo of Charlottesville, VA were killed in the shooting.
The deadly incident took place at the American Fish Company, located near the Southport Yacht Basin, around 9:30 p.m. Saturday. According to Southport police, 40-year-old Nigel Max Edge is suspected of shooting from his boat into the restaurant and bar. He then fled on the Intracoastal Waterway to Oak Island, where he was arrested by the U.S. Coast Guard.
Edge appeared in Brunswick County Court Monday and was denied bond.
