CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Cranston police are investigating the disappearance of a woman named Jennifer Grenier.

Grenier's mother reported her daughter missing on Aug. 16.

According to police, Grenier was experiencing homelessness and had previously been living in an encampment off Cranston Street.

In an email to 12 News, Grenier's mother said that before her disappearance, her daughter kept in touch daily and met with her mother every Saturday.

Police said Grenier's mother last had direct contact with her daughter over the phone on Aug. 6. During that call, Grenier reportedly said that she wasn't feeling well.
