OZARK, Mo -- Ozark High School senior Josey Roberts etched her name into Missouri high school sports history, the school district announced Wednesday.

Roberts shot an incredible score of 62 (-8) at Horton Smith Golf Course to break the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) state record by eight strokes.

Roberts’ score came on the par-70 course, setting a new benchmark for girls golf in the state.

“Josey has been playing golf with a lot of freedom this season. With that freedom, she is just in the zone and makes golf look easy,” Ozark girls golf coach Daniel Mullis said in a statement. ”She has been a true leader on our team with helping other teammates improve their craft and celebrated in their personal achievements."
