Two new murals celebrating community connections and the local environment will be added to Mandurah by the end of the Mandurah Arts Festival on October 12.
Presented by the City of Mandurah, Perth-based artist Haylee Fieldes has already transformed Henson Reserve’s once-blank public toilets into a vibrant mural with the help of the community.
Taking inspiration from Mandurah’s coastal and marine life, Ms Fieldes researched native birds, dolphins and Mandurah’s iconic blue-swimmer crab as the basis of the mural’s design.
She and her assistant Sally Ridge spent last Saturday tracing the design before inviting Henson Reserve locals to help them paint on Sunday.
