Grand Blanc plans to come together as a community next week to chart a way forward after a violent attack on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

"We're having a community gathering, anyone is welcome," said Leigh LaForest, president of the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce, which is sponsoring the event along with the school district, the city and and township. "It's not a vigil, it's a gathering. There is no religious overtone. We just want to start the healing as a community."
