NEW YORK (PIX11) – Thousands of federal workers in New York will face furloughs or work without pay on the first day of the government shutdown, Wednesday.
Air traffic controllers and TSA employees are among those affected, said Governor Kathy Hochul.
“I want to be very clear, this shutdown is a choice, a deliberate decision by Donald Trump and the Republicans to abandon the very people they were sent to Washington to represent. They alone are responsible for this,” Governor Kathy Hochul said during a press conference in front of the Statue of Liberty. “They hold all the levers of power, the presidency, the Senate, and the House of Representatives, and instead of governing, they abdicate their responsibility and abandon any chance to negotiate.”
