California will spend more money amid a significant budget shortfall as the state will have to mail out correction postcards ahead of the November special election .

The California Secretary of the State office said it will be sending out a correction notice to millions of registered voters as the official 2025 voter information guide contained an error.

The voter guide contains information about Proposition 50, a ballot measure that seeks to allow the state to temporarily bypass the independent redistricting commission and redraw district lines in response to Texas' redistricting. The proposal is being championed by Gov. Gavin Newsom and other national and state Democrats.
