Urban Alchemy workers gathered Wednesday to mourn the death of a colleague who was shot and killed in San Francisco.
Joey Alexander, 60, was fatally shot Friday afternoon outside the San Francisco Main Library, according to Urban Alchemy workers and police.
Urban Alchemy workers initially gathered in front of the library to remember Alexander and later moved the memorial to the group's office on Hyde Street, which is a few blocks away.
Alexander had been planning to meet his son for the first time in a few weeks, according to his family in Texas and co-workers.
According to the group's spokesman Jess Montejano, Alexander and a couple of his teammates were doing normal rounds near the library when Alexander saw a man doing drugs in the open.
